BEETA JAHEDI
Founder & Managing Director
Beeta Jahedi founded Navona Strategies to bring sustainable social impact solutions to organizations working to improve their communities. Beeta is a philanthropy and nonprofit professional with nearly 20 years of experience working in the sector. She excels at implementing positive change for clients and challenging traditional philanthropic structures to maximize organizational impact as she strives to shift power back to historically marginalized communities.
Previously, Beeta was the associate director, Nonprofit Effectiveness at TCC Group, also serving as the interim head of the division. At TCC she led multiple complete client and research projects with community-strengthening goals. Before that, Beeta was the chief of staff of The Tow Foundation, where she worked closely with the Foundation’s president and board on organizational strategy and impact and oversaw its communications department. She was responsible for amplifying the visibility of the Foundation’s work and actively engaging external audiences on solutions in justice reform, medicine, higher education and culture. She researched and implemented strategies to accelerate impact through collaboration, targeted communication, strategic planning and engagement with external partners in key communities and with the public.
Prior to joining The Tow Foundation, Beeta was the senior director of learning and programs at San Diego Grantmakers, where she had the opportunity to collaborate with many Philanthropy Serving Organizations (PSOs). She currently serves as a Board Member of the Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation and Build Up Inc. Beeta earned her EdD in Adult Learning and Leadership from Columbia University's Teachers College with a multiple case study qualitative research dissertation focused on foundation CEOs’ strategic decision-making. She also earned her M.P.A. in Public Policy and Nonprofit Management and Administration from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University and her B.A. in Gender Studies from Bard College at Simons Rock, an early college.
